About The Role

The successful candidate will join our dynamic team and work in collaboration with the thematic leads under the guidance of the Director, Thematic Research & Corporate Innovation, to support the development and implementation of the engagement process handbook and associated risk management activities, and closely follow the regulatory stewardship landscape and its potential impact on FAIRR’s work. 

 

Additionally, the candidate will support with a range of operational activities that are central to ensure the effectiveness of the Research & Engagement team, which includes the annual strategy and budget process and quarterly reporting activities to the Board of Trustees. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and disseminate the engagement process handbook, to ensure the quality and consistency of FAIRR’s engagement offering, and working closely with the Head of Editorial and Content Production and the Investor Outreach team to develop relevant templates for preparatory materials and outputs that maximise efficiencies across teams. 
  • Stay up to date on the regulatory landscape for stewardship activities related to the key regions in which FAIRR and its investor members operate, and help drive risk management activities in line with FAIRR’s anti-trust guidelines and risk register. 
  • Maintain the anti-trust guidelines, and organise annual internal training to ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to the Stewardship Risk & Compliance Committee on a quarterly basis. 
  • Provide coordination support and guidance across collaborative engagements to ensure adherence to relevant processes and templates
  • Coordinating what the R&E team shares, when it is shared, and how it is communicated to investor members. This requires strong internal alignment across the thematic R&E teams, as well as close collaboration with other functions — including Comma &Marketing and Investor Outreach — to ensure that all outputs are effective, timely, and consistent across workstreams. 
  • Collaborate with the Head of Editorial and Content Production to coordinate the production of communication materials required to update our investors members on progress across engagements, market insights etc. 
  • Support with event coordination, including investor and company meetings. 
  • Support the Director of Thematic Research & Engagement during the annual strategy and budget process, and quarterly reporting activities to the Board of Trustees.
  • Develop strong working relationships with colleagues across the FAIRR team to better understand, identify and promote new ways of working to enhance greater collaboration within and across teams, and maximise efficiencies.

Essential Criteria

  • Knowledge of policy issues linked to corporate governance, stewardship and shareholder rights and responsibilities as well as wider responsible investment issues
  • Understanding corporate sustainability issues, especially in the food sector. Knowledge of reporting frameworks, such as TNFD, CDP, ISSB and GRI would be considered an advantage.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, including an ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. Evidence of scoping and tracking projects and managing resources to time constraints.  
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Office 365 tools. Ideally knowledge of Salesforce and project management tools such as Asana.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and communicate both verbally in writing.
  • Information seeker and aptitude to problem-solving and holistic thinking
  • Experience of interacting and working with business professionals and the ability to engage a wide range of internal stakeholders. Proactive attitude and a confident and professional manner in dealing with senior business professionals. 
  • Willing to occasionally attend conference calls in different time zones outside normal working hours, and travel to conferences and events (less than 10% of the time).
